Badrinath is one of the 108 Divya Desams (Vishnu temples) dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. Located on the banks of the river Alaknanda, the sacred shrine lies perched at an altitude of 3,133 m above sea level. It is guarded on either side by two mountain peaks Nar and Narayan with the towering Neelkanth peak providing a splendid back-drop.

Kedarnath is the seat of Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve "Jyotirlingas" of Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 3,584 m above sea level at the head of river Mandakini. The shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimage for the Hindus.

The sacred shrine of Godess Yamuna is located at the source of the river Yamuna at a height of 3,291 m above sea level. It is the westernmost shrine in the Garhwal mountains (Himalayas) and is perched on top of a flank of Bandar Poonch Parvat.
